Traditional shoes (Opanci)
Opans are country light, leather shoes, which are tightened around the legs with straps or braces. They were the basic footwear of the majority of inhabitants in the villages of Serbia until the first half of the 20th century.
For Serbs, opanak is traditional Serbian footwear and is its national symbol.
On the Balkan Peninsula, this footwear is very widespread in various forms, fashion details and colors, and opans are also a national costume in Macedonia, Bosnia and Croatia.
